On Monday, December 25, 2023, the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Royal Commission for Alula (RCU). In the signing of the MoU, KFCRIS was represented by the Assistant to the Secretary-General, Mr. Ibrahim Aldeghaither, and RCU was represented by the Executive Director of Archaeology, Collections and Conservation Dr. Abdulrahman Alsuhaibani.

The MoU aims to enhance the cooperation between the two entities; by capitalizing on their respective strengths and assets. This partnership is aimed at promoting research, and community engagement in the areas of archaeology, cultural heritage, and Islamic history.
