UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures participated in the Moscow International Book Fair
The UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS), supported by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission and helped to launch a dedicated section within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at the Moscow International Book Fair from September 3 to 7, 2025.
The UNESCO Chair highlighted its strategic objectives, focus languages, and its eight themes, including the current themes: Translating Cultures in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Translating Cultures and Intangible Heritage. Visitors responded positively to the pavilion, which showcased the Chair’s diverse research projects, activities, and interests.
Participation in the Moscow International Book Fair provided a platform to extend the UNESCO Chair’s international network and stimulate collaboration with universities, cultural institutions, and research centers. The book fair also provided an important opportunity to expand cooperation with Russian-speaking scholars, authors, and translators interested in future collaboration with the UNESCO Chair.
