On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) held a lecture entitled “What is Translation? Theory, Practice, Value?”, delivered by Prof. Lawrence Venuti, a Professor Emeritus of English at Temple University. The lecture was moderated by Prof. Mubarak Alkhatnai, a Professor of Applied Linguistics and Translation at King Saud University.
The lecture included a book signing by the speaker (and the translator) for the Arabic version of his book, “Translation Changes Everything: Theory and Practice”. The lecture is one of the events organized by the UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures, a project implemented by KFCRIS with the support of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission.
