KFCRIS signed an agreement to establish UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures
On Monday, March 18, 2024, the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) signed an agreement with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to establish the UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures with the support of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission of Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed by the Secretary-General of KFCRIS, HRH Princess Maha bint Mohammed AlFaisal, and by the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay. The Chair is directed by Dr. Moneera Al-Ghadeer.
The Chair will pave the way for innovative research in translating cultures by supporting collaborations between scholars specializing in translation, culture, intangible heritage, and the humanities at the local, regional, and international levels.
