On Wednesday March 3, 2021, the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) and the National Nutrition Committee under the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) co-convened an online panel discussion entitled “Documenting Saudi Food Patterns and Styles of Local Consumption.” The opening remarks were given by Dr. Mark C. Thompson (Head of the Socioeconomics Unit, King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies). Three speakers joined the panel discussion: Faisal Fahad Binsunaid (Director, Healthy Food Department, Saudi Food and Drug Authority), Prof. Halah Alotaibi (Professor, Community Nutrition, King Faisal University), Chef Wisam Khashoggi (Saudi Culinary Academy (ZADK)). The discussion was moderated by Dr. Majid M. Alkhalaf (Director, National Nutrition Committee).
