The "Saud Al Awtan" Conference in memory of Prince Saud AlFaisal

The three-day "Saud Al Awtan" conference, organized by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) in memory of late Prince Saud AlFaisal, concluded on Tuesday. In its closing session, a number of prominent Saudi, Gulf and Arab figures delivered speeches highlighting the prominent personal characteristics of late Prince Saud AlFaisal and hailing his distinctive approach in the field of foreign policy during his tenure as Saudi Foreign Minister for 40 years. They also praised the stances of late Prince in the service of Arab and Islamic issues as well as his role in the creation and support of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Those speakers included: Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the former Secretary-General of the GCC Jamil Al-Hejailan, the first Secretary of the GCC Dr. Abdullah Bishara, Secretary-General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Elaraby, the former Secretary-General of the Arab League Amr Moussa, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Qattan, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad bin Amin Madani, and the former Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Ismail.
